The Short Version

Substreamer does not collect, use, or share any personal information. Your data stays on your device and your server.

About Substreamer

Substreamer is a music streaming app created by Gaven Henry. It connects to a Subsonic-compatible server that you provide and control. Substreamer has no central server, no user accounts, and no backend services of its own.

What Data Is Stored

All app data is stored locally on your device. This includes:

• Your server URL and login credentials (used only to connect to your server)
• Cached music files, images, and metadata (for offline use and performance)
• Listening history, ratings, and playback preferences
• App settings and theme preferences

None of this data is sent to Substreamer or any third party. You can clear all locally stored data at any time from within the app or by uninstalling it.

Network Connections

Substreamer connects to:

• Your Subsonic-compatible server — to stream music, fetch your library, sync ratings, and manage playlists. This is a server you own or have been given access to; Substreamer has no visibility into it.
• MusicBrainz (musicbrainz.org) — to look up artist metadata. These requests contain artist names only and are not linked to any personal information.

Substreamer does not currently use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services.

Third-Party Services

Substreamer is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. These platforms may collect data as described in their own privacy policies. Substreamer itself does not send data to Apple or Google beyond what the platforms require for app installation and updates.

In the future, Substreamer may integrate additional third-party services (such as analytics or crash reporting) to improve app quality. If this happens, this policy will be updated before any such service is added, and the services will be chosen with user privacy in mind.

Children

Substreamer is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since Substreamer does not collect personal information from any user, no special provisions are necessary.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Substreamer after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Substreamer is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall the author be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the app or the use or other dealings in the app.

You are solely responsible for the security and configuration of your own music server. Substreamer is a client application and has no control over server-side data handling.
